Chin Reduction with mandible angle reduction is a cosmetic procedure that reduces a patient’s chin, jaw angle, and mandible. During this type of surgery, the surgeon would remove a part of a patient’s chin bone tissue. This helps significantly improve a patient’s lower jawline, chin, and neck.

There are different techniques for this type of procedure:

• Chin Reduction by resecting the angle of the chin. This technique is recommended when a patient has a small chin but is only concerned about the corner of the chin bone. 
• Chin Reduction by resecting the bone from the chin angle to the middle of the mandible. This technique is the most common method performed in Genioplasty.
• Chin Reduction by cutting and shortening the chin bone by shaving the lower jaw bone. This technique is performed on patients who have a long chin.

This is a Genioplasty procedure used by surgeons to help a patient achieve a V-shaped face. This is typically performed on individuals with a short chin and a broad face.

In general, an individual is a good candidate for Genioplasty if:

• They are physically healthy
• They maintain a stable weight
• They have realistic expectations
• They do not smoke
• They are bothered by their chin’s appearance
