Would you need to take continuous hormonal therapy after sex change operation?

Hormone therapy can be used before, during, and after sex reassignment surgery to help change the physical appearance into that of the desired gender.

Would patients with limited penile skin need to undergo Sigmoid Colon Vaginoplasty to get enough vaginal depth?

In recent years, there have been many advanced techniques developed for sex reassignment surgery. This allows surgeons to get skin from other areas of the body to create the desired vaginal depth.

Normally, surgeons will perform a scrotal skin graft first when there is limited penile skin. If a scrotal skin graft doesn't suffice, the chief plastic surgeon may opt for an abdominal skin graft.

Do you need to do hair removal before sex reassignment surgery?

Patients would need to engage in hair removal prior to the surgery. In general, this should start at least three months before the sex change surgery.

How long does sex reassignment surgery take?

Most surgeries take between seven to 10 hours.

Is there a surgical technique suitable for people who do not need vaginal penetration?

Sex reassignment surgery without vaginal depth was designed for patients who want to change their sexual identity and skin without getting any unwanted vaginal dilation.

What happens during a penile skin inversion?

During a penile inversion (a male to female surgery), the surgeon will make an incision to form a tunnel for the vaginal opening.

How long does it take to recover from sex reassignment surgery in Thailand?

On average, a patient may need up to eight weeks to recover. However, every patient's recovery is different. Transgender people who follow the surgeon's recommended home hygiene and post-operative care routine are likely to have a faster recovery.

Can you have sexual intercourse following gender reassignment surgery?

Generally, plastic surgeons advise patients to wait at least 12 weeks after a sex change operation before engaging in sexual intercourse. Abstaining for three months following sex change operation allows the new organ time to fully recover.

When can patients perform vaginal penetration following sex reassignment surgery?

A patient should refrain from vaginal penetration until six weeks after the sex reassignment surgery.

Can sex reassignment surgery help with gender dysphoria?

What does postoperative care look like?
